As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads worldwide, business aviation professionals are once again jumping into action to fly stranded citizens back to their home countries, transport medical teams, airlift patients and ship medical supplies. HUMANITARIAN AIRLIFT

Earlier this May, as all commercial airliners were grounded due to the COVID-19 crisis, an airlift was set up between Moscow and Geneva, Switzerland, thanks to Albinati Aeronautics. Ten Russian children with retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of retinal cancer, were transported to Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland for treatment.

BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE VENTILATOR CHALLENGE

In Bristol, UK, huge hangars topped with solar panels buzz with activity. Inside, Rolls-Royce engineers are working on the latest in low-carbon technology, from lightweight engine fan blades to hybrid-electric generators and propulsion for next-generation fighter jets. And now, in a hangar normally used to train engineers, more than 100 people are diligently working to produce medical ventilators.
